Project Nazareth
__________________________________
As Fr. Patrick Peyton famously shared,
“The family that prays together, stays together.”
PROJECT NAZARETH HELPS FAMILIES DEEPEN THEIR
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AT HOME.
Together, you will be encouraged to listen to stories from the Bible, talk
about what was shared, pray as a family and model individual prayer, and
finally, act out what you learned through fun and meaningful activities.
By using Project Nazareth, it is our hope that parents will become more
comfortable talking about their faith with their children and modeling how
Jesus is the center of their faith.
Formation Series
How Each Series Works
Each series offers families ways to LISTEN, PRAY, and ACT with Sacred Scripture.
1. Listen
Listen to the Word of God, actual Bible readings, then discuss
what you heard using the suggested questions provided.
2. Pray
Develop a family tradition of praying together and model for your
children the importance of prayer. Even learn new ways to pray.
3. Act
Create and model a way of life by living and sharing your faith
through a simple weekly activity that can be done at home or
going out into the community.
As part of our parish’s Faith Formation program, Holy Apostles Parish will
be utilizing the Project Nazareth program. We have outline how to use this
program on a weekly basis. You can download the weekly schedule on this
website.
You will begin using the Good News Series.
Together your family will explore the great story of salvation. There are four
sections, with seven lessons each. These core truths of our Christian faith
help us understand and articulate in a simple way who God is, why we
exist, and who we are in relationship to him.
During Advent you will be using the Eucharist Series.
Families will learn more about the Mass and the origin of the Eucharist.
The Eucharist Series is perfect for families who have children receiving
their First Holy Communion or as a fresh look at why we believe that the
bread and wine actually become Jesus in the Eucharist at Mass.
During Lent you will be using the Dignity of Life Series.
The Dignity of Life Formation Series will help your family to ponder the
worth and equality of each person, answer the call to serve your neighbor,
and inspire you to protect life from conception to natural death. It also
introduces your family to many inspirational Saints who stood up for God
and their faith.
Prayer Guide
The Project Nazareth Prayer Guide helps families pray together. There are
prayers for every occasion to help your family grow closer to Jesus,
including the Hail Mary, Glory Be and Our Father. These prayers can be
used in a variety of ways, such as when you are gathered at the dinner
table, riding in the car, or doing your bedtime prayers.
